This project was done during my time at Boston Children's Hospital, where I took over management of the tech side of the Foodborne Dashboard. The dashboard is a tool used with participating departments of public health (DPH) around the United States to help them address foodborne illnesses by monitoring Twitter. Through the Twitter API and NLP, we identify mentions of food poisoning withing a given region and send them over to the dashboard.
With the tool, DPH employees can easily respond to citizens on Twitter, asking them to share the details of their experience. Through this, the community can identify any restaurant that may need a health inspection.
